WordPLAY Consulting Founder, Canadian Healthy Play Facilitator

Jen is the founder of WordPLAY Consulting and works directly within education recreation and sport organizations to connect, inspire, and inform through play. Jen graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and  Bachelor of Education. Her love of teaching has led her to a decade long teaching career. She has been involved in sport and recreation for the past twenty years and also was a member of the City of Calgary Recreation Access and Inclusion Team.

Sarah is a mother of three and holds a Bachelor of General Arts Degree with a Minor in English. Sarah also holds her Level 3 Certification in Early Childhood Education. Aside from her busy life caring for her own children, she has extensive experience as a Preschool Teacher. Sarah is a natural caregiver and loves to inspire growth, creativity, and development in children. She loves the Studio Fine Arts Club and has created the lesson plans carefully to ensure that all children learn and grow every step of the way.

Jen’s career in recreation began 19 years ago when she became a support worker for adults with disabilities which quickly established a passion for working within the disability community. While still living in Ontario, she developed and facilitated a Youth Leadership Training program for Rainbow Day Camp. In 2010, Jen was hired as a Recreation Program Specialist at the City of Calgary, and from there, took on a variety of roles within municipal recreation, including Sport Coordinator, Learning and Development Coordinator, and Recreation Coordinator.

B.A. in Social Work

Luisa Salomons BSW, RSW is a graduate of the Bachelor of Social Work Degree program from the University of Calgary, Alberta. She has spent the last 13 years working for Alberta Child and Family Services, supporting children, youth and families in Central Alberta. For the last 4 years she managed the Blackfalds Parent Link Centre, which provided parent education, family support and early childhood educational programming for families with children ages 0-6. Luisa is an advocate for early childhood prevention and was an active member of the Early Childhood Matters Coalition of Central Alberta. Luisa is passionate about supporting parents to reach their parenting goals and is an Accredited Triple P – Positive Parenting Program facilitator.
